Canadian Flag Throw Quilt PDF Quilt Pattern, Canada Day Quilt

Make this patchwork Canadian Flag throw quilt to take along on summer picnics or to watch the fireworks on Canada Day.

This quilt is also great for summer cottage decor or a special gift. This is a nice sized throw quilt. It finishes at 60” wide x 72” tall.

The red patchwork for the flag is strip pieced to save time and fabric. Strips will be sewn together and then cross-cut. The maple leaf is machine appliqued.

Fabric Requirements:

Various grey fabrics for background to total 3 yards.

Several small grey 2.5” square scraps (24 total) for either side of the flag.

Various white fabrics for flag to total .75 yards (or 36 – 4.5” squares)

Various red fabrics to total 1.25 yards (or 18 – 2.5” strips)

½ yard of binding fabric

4.5 yards of backing fabric

2 yards of 95” wide batting

½ yard of Heat n Bond Lite fusible for the leaf
